Fixing “PowerPoint was unable to display...” Error Message

Upgradation of Windows enables the computer user to use all the additional features added in the upgraded version. While Windows upgradation includes numerous advantages, it can turn into your worst nightmare in case your PowerPoint files get corrupted after upgradation. In most of these cases, you encounter an error message while trying to access the corrupt PowerPoint files, which results in inaccessibility of the data saved in these files. For easy accessibility of data saved in these files, an easy option (used by most users) is to restore these files from an updated backup. But in case, the backup file(s) are lost or do not exist, then you need to repair corrupted PowerPoint files using an advanced PowerPoint Recovery software.

Consider a practical case, where you upgrade your system from Windows 2000 to Windows XP Professional operating system. However, after the upgradation is complete, when you open a PowerPoint file, you receive the below error message:

“PowerPoint was unable to display some of the text, images, or objects as slides in the file (name) because they have become corrupt. Affected slides have been replaced by blank slides in the presentation and it is not possible to recover lost information. To ensure that the file can be opened in
previous versions of PowerPoint, use the Save As command and save the file with the same name or a new name.”

The same error message appears when you attempt to open any of the PowerPoint files. The data saved in all the PowerPoint files becomes inaccessible as the above error message can not be surpassed.

Resolution:

To resolve the above error message, follow the below mentioned steps:

1.Click File, then choose Save As.
2.Save the PowerPoint file at a new destination with the same or a new name.

In most cases, you will be able to access your PPT files after following the above steps. But, if the above steps are unsuccessful in making the files accessible, then you need to opt for an advanced Powerpoint Recovery application that can repair the files. Such PPT Recovery tools employ high-end scanning and repairing techniques to repair any logically corrupted PowerPoint file. These tools do not make any change to the original PPT file.
